Science Beneath the Surface
Sometimes the things you can't see make all the difference—like our cushion-backed carpet tiles that reduce in-room and through-floor noise by up to 50%. This acoustic performance comes from our engineered cushionbacking technology, delivering measurable noise reduction where it matters most.
A PERSONAL STORY OF MOVEMENT AND RETURN
Ignited Earth is deeply connected to designer Jess Herring and her family's history in the Azores Archipelago of Portugal. In 1957, a volcanic eruption on Faial Island caused widespread disruption. The geological event, combined with Portugal's restrictive dictatorship and limited economic opportunity, led many families, including Jess's, to emigrate to the United States.
Today, the Azores are experiencing a reversal. Drawn in by sustainability efforts and a slower pace of life, descendants of earlier immigrants are returning and newcomers are arriving. Members of Jess's family have also returned, reinforcing the idea that migration is about change, adaptation and coming home.
ROOTED IN COLOR, INSPIRED BY PLACE
Ignited Earth is built on an organically-inspired color system defined by depth and range. The collection spans richly warm palettes, distinctly cool expressions and patterns that thoughtfully blend both, reflecting the natural contrasts of the Azores where volcanic land meets the ocean.
Drawn from the landscape of the nine islands, these colorations reflect weathered stone hues, cool volcanic charcoals, mossy greens, deep water blues and earth browns, creating layered depth and a grounded sense of place in interior spaces.
Curated to Coordinate
Ignited Earth is built for flexibility — and for the spaces that demand it. Its organically neutral color system moves seamlessly from warm to cool, light to dark, giving designers a reliable range that coordinates across programs, transitions across zones and adapts without effort. Specify one colorway or build an entire palette. Either way, it works.
