WellBAC Third Party Certifications

WellBAC® Third-Party Certifications

Declare logo

Declare® is a nutrition label for building products. It is designed to help specifiers quickly identify products that meet project requirements.

WellBAC® backing systems demonstrated a commitment to transparency by disclosing the ingredients of our floor coverings through Declare to help create a materials economy that is non-toxic, ecologically regenerative, transparent, and socially equitable.

red list free logo

The Red List contains the worst in class materials prevalent in the building industry.

The commonly-used chemicals on the Red list are: polluting the environment, bio-accumulating up the food chain until they reach toxic concentrations, and harming construction and factory workers. WellBAC® backing systems do NOT contain materials hazardous to human health: RED-LIST FREE and third-party verified.

cradle to cradle logo

The Cradle to Cradle certification serves as a comprehensive assessment of sustainability performance in 5 categories: Material health, Material Reutilization, Renewable Energy and Carbon Management, Water Stewardship, and Social Fairness.

Milliken's WellBAC® backing is proudly Cradle to Cradle Silver certified, demonstrating our dedication to sustainability, responsible manufacturing, and a commitment to a circular economy.

EPD (ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION)

It allows architects and specifiers to compare products in terms of their whole-life sustainability.

Our WellBAC® cushion backing can prolong the life expectancy of carpet tiles by 40-50% compared with hardback products. Our WellBAC® products qualify for LEED v4 status.

CRI Green Label Plus logo

Low VOC Emissions - CRI Green Label Plus, an independent testing program that identifies carpet, adhesives, and cushion with very low emissions of VOCs to help improve indoor air quality.

WellBAC® backing products are certified Green Label Plus, so you can be sure that the carpet you select emits the very lowest VOCs possible.

An extension of the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS), the Environmental Certification Scheme provides a guide to the environmental performance of carpet.

As a precondition of obtaining environmental certification, Milliken complies with the Code of Practice for Environmental Management which provides performance standards for raw materials, carpet manufacturing, in-service use, and final disposal.

The ECS has four levels of certification with incrementally more demanding performance criteria. Milliken has earned ECS Level 4, which is the top grading.

Milliken has certification with the Health Product Declarations (HPDs) which provides a full disclosure of the potential chemicals of concern in products by comparing product ingredients to a set of priority "hazard" lists based on the GreenScreen for Safer Chemicals and additional lists from other government agencies. HPDs qualify for numerous green building schemes, including LEED v4, WELL, Google Portico, and Living Product Challenge.
