High-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins are widely used in various film applications due to their excellent mechanical properties and moisture barrier performance, which are vital in preserving the quality and extending the shelf life of food products. NOVA Chemicals recently developed SURPASS™ HPx267-AB, a high-performance resin that sets a new industry standard for moisture barrier performance. Collaborating with materials science expert Milliken & Company, the resin incorporates Milliken’s UltraGuard 2.0 solution, which increases barrier performance by roughly 20% over the current benchmark. This advancement highlights the importance of integrating molecular and additive technologies to unlock new material potentials.
