The Art of Technology

At Milliken Research, we believe technology IS beautiful. But we know this concept is more easily understood when it's literally laid out at your feet. Case in point: Nōtan™ Carpet. Nōtan carpet tile is the first product to combine Milliken and recently acquired Constantine's unique technologies. A finely textured, piece-dyed base from Constantine was patterned using Milliken's latest print technology. The result: a design that showcases changes in opacity in a manner not possible through any other technique and winner of the NeoCon 2010 Innovation Award. Learn More>>

Thumbs Up

Leading British injection molder Thumbs Up (Bury) Ltd, has launched a new line of food and domestic storage containers in colored polypropylene random copolymer compounds that provide unparalleled clarity. The compounds contain Milliken's ground-breaking Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying agent, used in combination with our ClearTint® polymeric dyes. Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying agent improves clarity and gloss in polypropylene (PP) applications to levels comparable with "glass clear" polymers such as PET, polycarbonate and acrylics and even glass itself. A Synthesis of Safety and Comfort

For years, there were only two options in workwear: protection or comfort. Milliken Research changed this with its development of high-performance fire-resistant (FR) fabrics that combine both attributes. Milliken FR fabrics are processed ammonia-free and constructed of a cotton/nylon blend designed to mitigate potential injuries from electric arc and flash fire exposure, while maintaining very high levels of durability and comfort.
